Description

Our Punch a Bunch game is a spin off from the famous Price is Right Show.  There is no skill required as you just never know what is behind each punch.  When someone punches a spot, it will reveal either a prize, a coupon, or an envelope.  They will open this envelope to discover what they have won.  Usually it is a point value, which we find is the easiest way.  You can add up their points to determine their score, and compare that with the corresponding sign. Your guests can win raffle tickets, grand prize tickets, drink tickets, etc.

We had a dentist throw a stag and doe before, and guess what he used as prizes?  He had a lot of toothbrushes at his disposal so offered those as a prize!  But make sure that whatever prizes you have, you have a big grand prize for the big winner.  You want to make it worth people’s while to spend the money to get a chance to win something desirable.  We love this game because of its large size and wow factor.  You sure cannot miss this puppy as it is 4 feet wide and over 5 feet high!  It grabs your attention right away, and is a show stopper.  With it being on wheels, it makes it simple to set up and get into place.  The Punch a Bunch is so versatile and you can use it in a variety of circumstances, such as a Tradeshow, Stag & Doe, Fundraiser, or Wedding even as a Kissing Game!

How to Play This Game

We have some recommendations that will help you understand how this game is played.  First you need to decide how you are going to run the game (see next tab called “How to Profit”) and that will determine how you set it up.

TPunch a Bunch Rentalhis game is on wheels (handy right?) so it is easy to maneuver once on solid ground.  You put it against a wall so that nobody can see what is behind.  But to get it set up, wheel it out from the wall to give you some room to go behind.

Punch a BunchThis is what it looks like from behind, and there are 25 spots for you to put envelopes in, or the hidden grand prize.  You can layer the envelopes on top of each other if you wish too.  See, in the game on the show, you can tell when the spot has been selected since they use tissue paper and it is torn once punched. Ours are rubber mats that you punch and so you can reuse them over and over again instead of a one time use.

punch a bunch Once one spot is punched and they take the top envelope, the next person might select the same spot and take the next envelope.  Once all the envelopes are in place, wheel it back against the wall and you are ready to begin.  Each person will get at least one punch to reveal an envelope.

How to PROFIT with This Game

We have some excellent tips on how to profit with this game, if you are using it at a Fundraiser.  We have a few variations that you can offer people:

a) Add up their punches to reach a Point Value

  • Behind each punch, there will be an envelope that will they need to open.  Inside there are point values in the envelopes. So either allow them to punch once, and that is their point value, or allow them to punch a couple/few spots and add up their score.  People love this game, so we recommend to at least offer them a second punch because it is so fun, and they will feel like they are getting more for their money.
  • We recommend something like – Two punches for $5, and they add up their points.  Again, you can just do one punch for $5 if you wish, and that is the point value they are stuck with.
  • Then on the wall have it advertised what the point values equal.
    • Get over x points, win a drink ticket.
    • Get over x points, win a free toothbrush and a grand prize ticket.
    • Get over x points, win the grand prize
  • .Or you can keep track of everyone’s scores and the person with the most points at the end of the night wins something.

b) One punch reveals prize

  • In this scenario they only get one shot to try to win the grand prize, but you don’t want them to just pay for one punch.  Hopefully they will want to punch a few times to increase their chances of winning!  You can charge one punch for $3, but offer them deals to punch more than one spot.  So perhaps $3, $5, $10, $15 for 1, 2, 3 or 4 punches respectively.
  • Alternatively, you can have only one of the spots say “grand prize” and the rest are duds, however what happens if the first person that punches wins? Good to have some options.

c) Find a Pair

  • A third way to run it, is to punch one hole, and then punch another trying to find its pair, and you can have a wild card in there too.  If they find the pair, they win!

What Kind of Vehicle do I need?

We have highlighted what NOT to bring in Red as it won’t fit, and we highlighted our recommended vehicle(s) in Green.

  • Compact Car
  • Large Car
  • Small SUV
  • Large SUV
  • Pick up Truck
  • Minivan (only if seats removed or stowed into floor however)

How to Prepare for Pick up

We have highlighted in Green what you may want to bring with you so that you are well prepared.  Your truck’s bed will need to be empty as this takes up a lot of room.  If bringing a minivan, ensure that all seats have been stowed into the floor, or they have been removed.  Showing up with seats/passengers will not work, as you need the entire cargo space for this giant game!  Truck is the easiest if you can manage that.

  • Bungee Cords
  • Tie-downs
  • 2 Blankets
  • 3 Blankets (1 to put on truck bed, 2 to wrap around)

How Heavy is this to Transport

A common question is to ask how heavy a product is, so that people know how many others they may need to bring to help lift this into their vehicle. This product is extremely heavy / awkward to carry.  We do not assist in the lifting of games into vehicles for liability reasons.  You and one other person can roll this towards your truck (it has wheels and handles on the side).  It can be wobbly and you don’t want to cause damage before even getting the game, so definitely do not come alone.  We advise you to have 2-3 people for pickup as hoisting it up into your truck is the biggest challenge. A reminder again that we do not assist in loading games into your vehicle, and it is your responsibility to bring these strong people.

Where Punch a Bunch Came From

This timeless game is from the famous game show called “The Price is Right” which began in 1978.  It is a fantastic way to win a lot of money – up to $25,000!  The Price is Right website says,

The contestant must identify whether the prices of small prizes are higher or lower than displayed incorrect prices to earn punches on a fifty-hole punchboard. Dollar amounts in the punched holes are revealed, with the contestant having the option of taking the dollar amount or giving it back to accept the dollar amount in the next punched hole. The top prize is $25,000.

We have a clip from the show to show you how it is played on the show:
