Description

So you might have seen challenges at Stag and Doe’s called “Strong Man Competition”.  Or perhaps you have seen “Hold the Beer Case” Challenge.  They basically work like this: someone will hold a beer case straight out in front of them, for as long as possible.  The person running the game will time how long they can do it, and believe it or not, it is hard!  The problem with this game is that sometimes the beer will fall through the case and smash all over the floor – causing chaos, mess, and a huge waste of money. It could end up costing you $40-$60 bucks depending on the type of beer they were playing with.  That is a shame and awful waste of money.

Instead, we prefer our Timber Two Four game because it has handles for people to hang onto, and if they drop it – oh well!  It’s just a log of wood so if it falls, no harm done.  We have a lighter one too.  So sometimes people rent two of these and give the heavier one to the men, and the lighter to the women.  The lighter one is just as challenging.  Time everyone’s attempts and see who can hold it out for the longest!  You can record their scores on this Dry Erase Board.  Decide if you would like to rent one Timber Two Four where each person times themselves individually.  Or you can rent two of them and have a competition between two people at the same time!

How to Play This Game

We have some recommendations that will help you understand how this game is played.  We recommend that you rent 2 logs rather than just 1, because people will get more competitive when there is someone right there in the moment to beat.  One of the logs is slightly lighter than the other, so you can either use one for men and one for women, or run the event so that two people have to play against each other at the same time.  Just don’t tell them that one is lighter 😉  Of course, you can always just rent out one log, and do one person at a time – this works just as much as renting 2, but we find people get more into it when their component is looking at them while holding it!

Keep track of everyone’s times throughout the night, to see who has won and who can hold the log of wood out the longest!  Typically the person would win a case of beer, but because they are not holding a case of beer but a log of wood, you can always do an LCBO card which is more popular anyhow.  That way they can pick out the exact brand of alcohol that they like to pick, rather than getting a case of beer that they might not love.

How to PROFIT with This Game

We have some excellent tips on how to profit with this game, if you are using it at a Fundraiser.  We recommend that you charge $5 to enter challenge.  Hopefully people will play twice to try and beat their first score!  That is all there is to it.  If you find it is popular, you could hold a tournament between the top 2 contestants, and they can pay another $5 to earn a donated prize that you have collected.  Just another way to make an easy $10!

What Kind of Vehicle do I need?

This game will fit into ANY type of vehicle, so just bring whatever you have available to you!

How Heavy is this to Transport

A common question is to ask how heavy a product is, so that people know how many others they may need to bring to help lift this into their vehicle.  With this product, one person is all you need!  It is very light weight so you will be fine.

Right? It is such a simple game but all of a sudden everyone needs to show off their skills. Glad you had fun!

  4. Chelsea Macsai

WAY better to use than using a case of beer to hold. So much fun, and it becomes such a competitive game !

I totally agree – and to think that this one was the most popular of all the games you rented, even though it was the cheapest! Funny how that works sometimes. Glad your guests enjoyed it!

  5. Cher Khan

Such a fun competitive game! Anyone renting this, I would suggest getting 2. It would add to the competition…and entertainment!!!
